Healthy turkey sloppy Joe sliders
The ground beef in your typical slider contains more fat than a small Banana Split Blizzard from Dairy Queen. So to lighten things up—without losing flavor—sub out the ground beef and sub in lean ground turkey. This'll cut about half the calories, a quarter of the fat, and even dish you even more protein.
2 lbs ground turkey
Your favorite low-sodium ready-made sloppy joe mix
1 cup chopped tomato
1 can kidney beans (optional)
Your favorite grilling spices, to taste
3 mini whole-grain buns
How to make it
Heat oil in a small skillet over medium heat.
Add in tomato, beans, and saute for 5 minutes; season with spices to taste.
Continue to toss and cook for 5 additional minutes until turkey is completely cooked. Serve on buns.
